INGROWN HAIR: HOW TO AVOID IT?

An ingrown hair is a hair regrowth in which the skin because it failed to cross. Not only does it cause redness, but it is also often the cause of a small hard lump that may grow bigger as and when the growth of hair , and even become infected. Another drawback, ingrown hairs tend to recur.

What to avoid?

  • Perform regular scrubs: scrubs or the passage of a loofah in the shower help eliminate dead cells and open pores of the skin . Finally, finer and more flexible, the skin is more easily traversed by the hairs that grow back. It is recommended to do this 2-3 times a week after hair removal, either during the phase of growth.
  • Apply a cream containing Vitamin A: Vitamin softens the skin, which also favors the elimination of dead cells and thus the penetration of hair .
  • Shave in the direction of hair , so as not to encourage the regrowth of hair in the opposite direction.
  • Do not expose yourself to sun after waxing because the effect of UV thicken the skin.

Beware of fire risks

Waxing regularly promote ingrown hairs . So are found most often in the bikini and underarms too. Now they form small infected pimples responsible for microbes. Until their complete disappearance, it should then be cleaned with an antiseptic lotion or better antibiotic lotion 2 times per day. If despite all these precautions, ingrown hairs persist, we must bring them out with tweezers. It is necessary to disinfect the forceps previously with alcohol, and the skin immediately after surgery. If the area is painful, apply a compress of warm water.

The radical solution: laser hair removal

In case of frequent recurrences, the only effective and definitive solution is laser hair removal. By the second meeting, the hair will not grow under the skin and after 5-6 sessions, the hair is completely gone. Read "The anti-aging medicine," Dr. Catherine Goursac, Hellebore editions.
