WHAT TO EAT TO PREVENT FLU AND COLDS?

If our way of eating we could avoid catching the flu and colds this winter, would be ideal. But is it really possible and then what are the foods that attention must focus on our menus?

Food anti-influenza and anti-cold

Some foods contribute to helping our body to defend and strengthen ouri mmune system. What are these foods to emphasize throughout the fall and winter?

Against colds and flu: fruits and vegetables at every meal!

Fruits and vegetables are an important source of antioxidants that help the body rid itself of free radicals and thus defend themselves against viruses.
Put in each menu to get at least the equivalent of 5 fruit and vegetables per day.
If we consider that each vegetable or fruit of a different color brings different vitamins, remember to vary the fruits and vegetables of different colors!

Garlic, onions and shallots, season with no moderation to prevent colds and flu

Eaten regularly, these foods appear to reduce aromatic infections. As a bonus, they could help prevent certain cancers!

Against colds and flu, ask the seafood table

Rich in omega-3, seafood has also the advantage of providing zinc, an antioxidant that stimulates the immune system. Other sources of zinc are calf's liver, chicken, wheat germ, legumes, etc..

Fish and other sources of omega-3 are preferred!

The essential fatty acids, including omega-3 are useful. They improve immune functioning. Replace your oil sunflower oil olive and rapeseed (in moderation!).Meanwhile, eat fish three times a week (and / or seafood). Also consider nuts, almonds and other seeds, including flax seed.

Against colds and flu, also eat protein

Eggs, fish and meats also make proteins, molecules essential for immune system because they participate in the production of antibodies. However, beware of excesses and bad choices. Some meat is very fat, choose lean meats such as poultry. Remember that eating fatty and heavy tire conversely the body, which is resistant to infection, so less (meats, stews, fried foods, pastries, cheeses ...).

Physical activity required!

The activity Physical finally is essential to keep in shape and therefore to resist viral attacks.
