Human health coverage (CMU): why and how to renew them?

CMU Your rights are granted for one year. They can be renewed if you still meet the necessary conditions, but it is sure to make the approach. As for the initial application, you must complete the form and send it to your health insurance.

 

How to renew your CMU?

Your health insurance company sends you every year to the same period a declaration of resources. You must return before September 15 . Upon renewal of your rights CMU , you must prove that you are domiciled in France for at least six months.

If you do not declare your income, your health insurance will automatically calculate your fee: you will be taxed as if you win five times the ceiling for social security (which corresponds to 2885 euros per month in 2010).

When making your application for renewal of Complementary CMU (CMU-C)?

If you benefit from the CMU-C (supplementary universal health coverage), know that it is granted for one year and renewal is not automatic . So you must reapply each year, at least two months before the date stated on your certificate.

What parts do you provide?

You perform the same steps as for your first application for registration in the supplementary CMU. So you must send it to your health insurance:

- Form No. 12504 Cerfa * 02 Affiliate Application 'opening supplementary universal health ";
- Form No. 11421 Cerfa * 01 selections of the body responsible for additional protection;
- Your number recipient CAF
- Your resource supporting the last 12 months; 
- Evidence proving that you live permanently in France or that you live for more than six months on land (rent receipt, invoice to your name, etc..).

What happens next?

If your health insurance company issues a favorable opinion, you receive a new certificate and you need to update your vital card .
If the opinion is unfavorable, you have one year of the right to pay the third party who is supported by the National Health Insurance. You need to present your certificate.
