The first few months, your whole life revolves around meals and baby sleeps. Here are some tips to live better the first night of your baby and to help him sleep.

1. The first 3 months, do you organize to feed baby at night

Baby is too young to understand the difference between day and night. In addition, his body is not yet making reservations : he must eat every 3 hours!
- If you are not breastfeeding, prepare the pods of milk in advance, and a thermos of hot water, or prepare in advance the bottle in the fridge (where you do not store more than 24 h);
- At the time of feeding baby, turn the hall light, not that of his room. Or use a small flashlight without pointing over his eyes!

From 3 months , baby should not need to be fed at night: Do not feed him, unless of course the pediatrician advises or if he seems hungry.

2. Help baby to differentiate night and day

Before baby distinguishes day from night (around 3 or 4 months), mark the difference yourself:

- During a nap: no dark night (just pull the curtains) and talk aloud;
- During the night: no lights, except for one night and talk in whispers.

3. Encourage baby to "grow" and through the night!

Even if only a few months, your baby understands encouragement, then feel free to congratulate him when he made a whole night:

- Tell him he is too big to sleep on you like a newborn;
- Lie in the bed and do not forget to tell him "good night" .

4. Lay baby at the right time

Know when baby is tired : he cries or whines, he shakes too much, he yawns, rubs his eyes.

Just before bedtime, do not start exciting games that could upset before bedtime.

5. Prepare it gradually dodo

Do not sleep baby "suddenly" : make him understand, slowly, it'll be bedtime, so he can prepare.

Baby should feel calm and assured in his room . Make sure it is.

Do not be too hasty! A baby does not sleep just like that, give him some time to relax before sleeping.

6. Set up a sleep ritual

Establish a bedtime ritual that reassures. This ritual should be performed every evening to prepare baby at night and the separation which is related to:

- Give him his blanket if any;
- Sing a lullaby;
- Make it a hug;
- Read him a story;
- Play with him to a quiet game.

7. In case of nocturnal awakening, let him go back to sleep

A baby wakes up sometimes several times a night : he growls, coos and whines and eventually go back to sleep. Do not interfere!

If he cries at night, wait a bit before rushing. A baby knows how to sleep alone .

If the crying persisted , but just reassure him without turning on the light and not take it in your arms tell him calmly to help him sleep.

8. Although the wake

The alarm should not be too brutal leave gradually the sounds of the house into his bedroom (the door open), turn on the lamp of the corridor to create some light in his room ...
