BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY: TECHNICAL ASPECTS AND PRACTICES TO REDUCE BREAST SIZE

I would like to reduce the size of my breasts . How does this type of intervention and what the postoperative course? Technical solutions and practices around the mammoplasty in the direction of a breast reduction .

Psychological aspects of the mammoplasty: warning

Here are some technical and practical information about breast reduction .Attention, as with any mammoplasty , psychological aspects are very important and should be widely considered before any decision. This last aspect is not discussed here. There will be a future article.

Why reduce the size of her chest?

Breasts too large can cause physical and psychological discomfort. Resorting to breast reduction allows a solution. There is another category of women who want to use the mammoplasty for purely aesthetic reasons.
In all cases, keep a sense of proportion in deciding the size of her breasts .The surgeon is highly qualified to indicate the possible dimensions for a chest .

Breast reduction: what happens during the operation?

The operation requires general anesthesia and lasts about 4 hours. If each surgeon has his own technique, the basis for intervention are similar. It involves removing excess skin and fat. The question of the nipples is very important and should be discussed beforehand with your surgeon. It can simply raise or remove and transplant to another location. Ideally, ask your surgeon to draw outlines in pencil on your chest . If the nipple is lifted and then repositioned on an upper area of the breast, strips of flesh will be located below sutured, reducing the chest and over. This procedure leaves scars around the areola and a line from the nipple down the breast and the skin fold under the breast .

Breast reduction: What are the postoperative course?

As with any major surgery, pain occur postoperatively. They are immediately processed using powerful painkillers during the duration of hospital stay between two and three days and several weeks after returning home.
It is necessary to wear a bra day and night to keep the breasts and help healing.
The stitches will be removed after two weeks.
Then back to work is possible, but it takes about a month before they can resume all normal activities.

What results to expect?

The results are generally excellent and women satisfied with the new size and shape of their breasts. Note however, that women who use this procedure because of discomfort due to a chest voluminous always appear more satisfied than those whose aim was purely aesthetic.
Side effects are rare. As with any surgery, there is a risk of infection.
Note that a loss of sensation in the nipple and areola is possible, but unpredictable.
In young women, the surgeon should proceed to allow breastfeeding in the case of a possible pregnancy.
Finally, remember that if you gain weight, your breasts may increase in volume again.
