CELLULITE AND LIPOLYSIS: WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION?

The lipolysis by injections ofphosphatidylcholine is a technique that allows highly targeted to dissolve fatty deposits unsightly but localized. The lipolysis can help refine the silhouette, but also tackle the double chin for example. Dr. Catherine Goursac * describes the course of a meeting and the results can be expected.

What happens during a session injection of phosphatidylcholine? Dr. Catherine Goursac: During the first visit, we take pictures and carry out measurements. It then draws on the parties that the patient will be treated. At this point, before beginning the injections phosphatidylcholine , we make him sign an informed consent. The patient lies down and the areas to be disinfected. Injections are made directly into the fat, every centimeter or every inch and a half. The injections are definitely not painful. However, after a few minutes, the treated area begins to turn red and produces a sensation of heat. This is normal and corresponds to the breakdown of cells, creating inflammation. This warm feeling does not last long, a half-hour to 2 hours. Back home, the patient may have redness and swelling for a day or two, not more. In contrast, the inflammation persists for at least 10 to 15 days. Therefore we do not have meetings every week, but only after 15 days at least, when the inflammation has disappeared. It takes 4-5 sessions. The treatment lasts two months hence.Depending on the treated area, edema can prevent social life? Dr. Catherine Goursac: On the body, not at all. And when I practice lipolysis on the face , I hold the meeting on a Friday, so if there is little swelling, it appears only on Saturdays and Sundays.

What results can we expect? Dr. Catherine Goursac: It is difficult to speak in centimeters because it depends on each person can get up to 9-10 cm loss or sometimes only 2 cm. It depends mainly on the resistance and the various treatments already undertaken. But there is still a real improvement. It must be said that the result is not brutal, it is slow in coming. The result is it permanent or is it a remake lipolysis regularly? Dr. Catherine Goursac: All patients who have used the lipolysis say when they grow, they grow less in the treated area. This is normal because when one grows, it multiplies a lump of fat cells to start. Now the capital of this area was then decreased, so we do grows more so over this area. Overall, there is some resistance in this area compared to others. But it can not mean that the result is final. If you gain weight, it takes everywhere, even if the area was treated to some resistance.
Are there any side effects? Dr. Catherine Goursac: some persistent erythema (3-4 weeks) may occur but is rare (2-3% of patients). We know that the muscle responds to phosphatidylcholine , which is to say that we can make a muscle cell lysis. So be very careful and precisely perform the injections in the fat part. The cons are very classic-indications such as pregnant women, people on anticoagulant, in case of autoimmune diseases, cancers or other inflammatory disease. We're still refining the protocol. Meanwhile, we are now working on protocols involving the palpated rolled, the phosphatidylcholine and ultrasound. The combination of these three treatments potentiate the effects. The result is multiplied by at least three. We thus arrive at a very efficient treatment leading to very significant effects. * Dr. Catherine Goursac practicing aesthetic medicine for over twenty years. She is a member of the French Society of Aesthetic Medicine, the Board of Directors of the Association of French doctors Salons (AFME) and secretary of the French Association of Anti-Aging ( www.fsaam.com ).
