CELLULITE: WHICH TECHNIQUE TO CHOOSE?

The cellulite is a major source of complex women. How to get rid of it?What techniques are available that may remove the unsightly fatty areas?Update with Dr. Catherine Goursac , aesthetic doctor.

Are there one or several kinds of cellulite?

Dr. Catherine Goursac: There are three types of cellulite . Each type corresponds to a different treatment.
1) The cellulite fat: it is usually found in women who took a round little weight.
2) The cellulite with water retention: it is often women who have thin legs but very heavy and coated. The whole leg is affected. This water retention is due to lymphatic insufficiency.
3) The Cellulite fiber: a genetic and affects women rather slim, even sporting. The cellulite is dense, painful and very localized. It is found in areas typical ofcellulite women.

Whatever type of cellulite , it is a source of complex for women and a very frequent reason for consultation. However for now we are not so efficient in this area but manage to still obtain a certain degree of improvement. We tested many techniques and now we're even combine these treatments to potentiate the results.

Cons liposuction cellulite

In terms of cellulite , the reference technique is liposuction. This conventional treatment is invasive (surgery with hospitalization and anesthesia) but quite effective. The liposuction is for young women. 30-35 years past, it is less recommended because of the sagging skin (remove fat without tighten the skin does not always give an aesthetic result). Contrary to popular belief, you should know that cellulite removed by liposuction do not come back here. We removed a fatty capital that can not recover. The treatment of each area is final. However, attention to erratic results, hence the need to choose a surgeon well experienced.

Laser cellulite and lipolysis

This technique is much less invasive and is only local anesthesia. Different wavelengths combined (1064nm, 1320 nm, 980 nm) are used today. It introduces a fine needle that will generate heat and thus destroy fat cells. Thev lipolysis laser coagulates at the same time surrounding blood vessels, reducing the risk of bruises and hematomas. Laser lipolysis has this very powerful, it also stimulates collagenasis, which promotes skin retraction.
This technique is particularly applicable to small excess fat from quarantine with a little sagging skin. Thus, in the absence of sagging skin (young women), that liposuction is recommended, but in the presence of loose skin, it is better to turn to the laser lipolysis.

Ultrasound for help cellulite

They can be applied internally or externally. Internally, they seem very effective, but the technique is not well codified. Externally, they are currently a little disappointing, but this technique is a way forward.

Radiofrequency against cellulite

This technique uses electromagnetic waves that pass between several poles. The octopole (between 8 poles) gives better efficiency than the two or three pole. As for the laser lipolysis and internal ultrasound, radiofrequency permanently destroys fat cells by heat. The heat will also be able to stimulate the synthesis of collagen in the dermis.

Carboxytherapy fight against cellulite

It involves injecting CO2, which weakens the wall of adipocytes, which eventually burst. Thus obtained good results in volume with a certain degree of skin retraction. The current trend is actually based on this dual action. In fact, thinning area is good, but it is also necessary to tighten the skin for a good cosmetic result.

Mesotherapy, another technique against cellulite

There are other techniques that they do not destroy fat cells. This is the case of mesotherapy. Little used in France, mesotherapy can drain the fat cell's contents. The disadvantage is that the result is not definitive.

The endodermologie against cellulite

This technique is particularly effective in cases of water retention important because it helps clear the edema. It rests on a kind of massage performed by a physiotherapist using a machine.

Which technique for which type of cellulite?

Dr. Catherine Goursac: The best indication of liposuction cellulite is fat. It can also be used against the fibrous cellulite but the results can be a little worse.
Lipolysis laser designed specifically for cellulite , fibrous and a bit of cellulite with water retention.
Radiofrequency and carboxytherapy can play on all three types of cellulite .
Endermologie is especially reserved for cellulite and water retention.
Finally, mesotherapy is mainly indicated in cases of skin sagging. She plays on the retention of water and a little on the fibrocellulite, but not on cellulite fat.
