TANNED JUST AFTER THE WINTER? IT'S EASY WITH SELF-TANNERS!

And even without the UV box, medically inadvisable. To avoid the effect of stained sink at a time when the skirts get shorter now, but when the sun has not yet had time to do its work, your friends are the best self-tanners . How do they work? How to use? Overview.

Self Tanners: A pinch of DHA for a touch of color

To view a tan gingerbread, summer and winter safely without the risks inherent in sessions UV and sun exposure ups (sunburn, allergies, acceleration of skin aging, etc..), the self-tanning remains the key of the solution. The active ingredient in these products is dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a derivative of sugar cane nontoxic. This product causes a natural chemical reaction with the surface cells of the skin and makes them change color. The reaction is gradually increasing, and the maximum score is obtained after 24 hours. Voila! You are tanned ! This principle has now declined in multiple formats: creams, gels for skin more oily, spray for hard to reach places, and wipes. The whole is enriched by the brands and ranges of active moisturizers, vitamins or other ingredients "health" or even UV filters.

Sunless tanning or artificial: the comparison

The DHA has no effect on the skin itself, but only on its outer cells. This explains why the sun "in a bottle" disappear fairly quickly, within a week at most and sometimes unsightly manner (for plates). The real tan, it is a defense reaction of the skin against the aggression of the sun. It then produces a brown pigment, melanin, which acts as a shield. As this color is localized in the epidermis , that is to say further, where cells are renewed less often, it takes much longer to disappear (25 days on average), even after exposure to sun stops. Good to know as well: the sun does artificial alter the ability of your tan skin. It does not protect against sunburn, or the increased risk of skin cancer, and therefore not exempt you from using any protection against the sun!

How to apply your self-tanner?

Products Self-tanners have improved greatly in recent years. The color is more natural, you have a choice of ways to apply, and accidents are rare. But this does not exempt you from some precautions? - Use scrub wisely: exfoliation, a little leaning on the driest areas of the body (elbow, heel, knee) is a must before applying self-tanner. It will provide regular income and you save the striped effect and colored plates. However, as the scrub removes surface skin cells, it will remove your stain. - If some areas of your body absorb more self-tanner, thus becoming darker, apply to a thin layer of moisturizer before. - After application, wash your hands thoroughly and use a tissue to wipe the areas with too much product was applied (around nails for example).
