A SIMPLE COMBING TEST DETERMINES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BALDNESS AND HAIR LOSS NORMAL

U.S. researchers have designed a simple test for determining the difference between hair loss and baldness normal beginner. It seems that 60 seconds of combing are already sufficient to demonstrate.

Hair loss in men

Until now there was no method for measuring hair loss normal everyday world-renowned for determining if a person starts to become bald or if the amount of hair loss is normal. It often indicates that it is normal to lose up to 100 hairs a day, a figure based on the assumption that an average scalp has about 100,000 hair. Scientifically, the number of 100 hairs per day has not yet been proven. It does not take into account the constancy or otherwise of the hair loss in life, no more than if this number is identical for men and women. Researchers from the universities of Texas, Maryland and Pennsylvania have now designed a scientific practical test to quantify hair loss normal men. In their study, they combed through the hair loss of sixty white men in good health without signs of baldness. Half the people in the sample were aged 20 to 40 years, the other half from 41 to 60 years. All men of the same test using a comb and washed their hair three mornings in a row with the same shampoo. The fourth, fifth and sixth morning, the scientists asked them to comb their hair for 60 seconds over a towel in a contrasting color.

60 seconds of combing

The results showed that young men are losing an average of 10.2 hairs per 60 seconds of combing. Extreme values being 0 and 78 hair. Older men lost an average of 10.3 hairs per test, with extreme values of 0 and 43 hair. Six months later, during a rehearsal of the study, similar results were seen in both age groups. In addition, counting was not conducted this time by the persons in the sample, but by scientists. Scientists believe the small difference in the results of two tests, both in young men than among older, proves that the test capillary of 60 seconds is a simple, convenient and reliable way to determine if it is a hair loss normal or problematic. This hair loss average differed from results of a previous study, which reached an average of 44 hair. The researchers speculate that the use of shampoo explains this difference, and a spacing between the teeth of the comb teeth and a thickness of others. The next step which will tackle the scientists is the repetition of the test combing hair in women, men suffering from baldness, people of different ethnic origin and people with other forms of loss hair .
