Erase or exfoliate?
The scrub has always aimed to eliminate the very thin surface layer of the skin. It is composed of keratin, but also impurities which are deposited on it (dead cells, pollution, etc.).. To achieve this, two methods are possible:
The scrub , which has a mechanical action: is applied to the skin cream or a product containing small abrasive particles (sand or salt, core particles of synthetic beads or fruits) and rubs! This method has the advantage of allowing you to dose the exact degree of aggression that you want, depending on what your skin can handle.
Exfoliation, who works in a chemical: it is applied to the skin cream whose assets will directly remove the surface layer. This applies, for example creams with fruit acids.
What good is a scrub?
Scrub or exfoliation possible, removing the top layer, making the skin smoother and remove dead cells, inactive, which sometimes overlap. Consequently, moisturizers or care more specific (anti-wrinkle, nourishing, etc..) That we apply after exfoliation penetrate better and be more effective. In addition, the scrub is slightly aggressive with the skin , not enough to really damage it, but enough to stimulate cell renewal and circulation to the surface. Consequence: a skin brighter, younger-looking.
Attention anyway
The scrub is a necessary step regardless of the nature of your skin . But be aware that the most fragile skins are sometimes hard to bear. It is therefore important that you find the product that suits you best, and frequency of application. A frequently cited reference is a scrub week for skin normal to oily, and two per month for dry or brittle. But you're the only one who knows what you should really ...
