Hair dyes and bladder cancer
Since 2002, when over 60% of women and 8% of men are color hair, hair dyes are suspected to be hazardous to health. According to the Scientific Committee on Consumer Products of the European Union, their regular use increases the risk of bladder cancer.
Instead of asking scientists to prove the toxicity of chemicals in products hair , the Committee was inversely sent to manufacturers asking them to demonstrate the safety of substances introduced into their products.
After analysis of all data submitted by industry capillary , the Committee issued its findings: The safety of 22 substances could not be proven. Consequently, they will be banned from 1 December 2006.
