Baby digestive disorders as constipation, diarrhea, colic

Barely out of your belly, baby must learn to eat alone. But his digestive system, few mature, needs a little time to get going properly. Crying, discomfort, discharge, constipation, colic, diarrhea ... Here digestive disorders that can meet your baby, and most importantly, how to fix it.

Colic

Baby twists, stretches his legs and crying while emitting gas. This is probably colic, painful abdominal bloating.

These symptoms usually disappear around 3-4 months baby.

Colic is not a disease but a sign of immaturity of the baby's digestive system (ie its digestion is not very mature yet).

How about it?

Unfortunately there is no miracle cure for colic cons, apart from creating a calm and serene around baby to help him through this painful time. Subdued lighting, soft music, rocking the baby by stretching the stomach in your arms.

However, you can consult your pediatrician if you are breastfeeding you advice on avoiding foods gasifiers (onions, cabbages, peas ...). If you are not breastfeeding, it can advise you on your baby's diet.

Baby is constipated

We talk about constipation if baby is less than 3 stools per week, hard balls and it's hard to issue them. A baby who has only one stool every day or two days is not constipated!

How about it?

- Give your baby enough to drink;

- Do not over-dose it a bottle of milk powder;

- As a remedy for constipation, baby bottles instead of water by the Vittel or Hépar;

- If the baby is larger and has a varied diet, give him some orange juice, fiber-rich foods like green vegetables or wholemeal bread;

- Never use a laxative without consulting a doctor;

- Of course, if constipation persists, consult a doctor.

Baby has diarrhea

Diarrhea occurs when baby makes frequent watery stools, jet. It should not be confused with a soft stool.

Do not worry if your baby has one or two loose stools, but be careful because a baby is dehydrated quickly in case of diarrhea.

If diarrhea persists, consult a doctor.

How about it?

- Among the largest, 90% of diarrhea are caused by a diet too rich. Give them mashed carrots, rice, ham, mashed banana and stewed fruit. Avoid dairy products, green vegetables, raw fruits and juices, except bananas. Everything should work out in a few days;

- Always make your child drink to prevent dehydration;

- Consult a doctor if your child has a fever, if blood or mucus in the stool if diarrhea persists or if the child is losing weight and suffering.

Beware if your child is under 3 months

Under the effect of diarrhea (due to gastro-enteritis for example), a baby can become dehydrated very quickly, it must be hospitalized in an emergency.

Your physician may recommend removing the milk. You then give your baby a special milk.
