GASTROINTESTINAL: HOW TO MANAGE YOUR DIET

The season for gastro-enteritis is open. Here's advice Paula Neyrat, the dietician e-health to better manage these days unpleasant.

Advice in cases of gastroenteritis for the first days

Vomiting and diarrhea cause loss of water and minerals that must be compensated.
Therefore:
Drink often and in small quantities:
  • - Mineral water rich in sodium (Vals, Vichy);
  • - Vegetable broth: 1 kg of vegetables cut into very small pieces and cooked for 30 minutes in 2 liters of water. Strain and add salt only after cooking;
do not eat anyway, can hardly be otherwise as vomiting are present.
Then as and when calm as intestinal relocates:
  • - The apple pulp (grated apple without skin): 3-4 in the day by small spoonfuls;
  • - Milk fermented liquid: in small sips;
  • the applesauce and cooked very very sweet or small pots Apple / Quince, including for adults in small spoonfuls;
  • - Very plain rice cooked with a little butter and grated cheese: in little spoonfuls;
  • - Fermented milk very sweet: by teaspoonfuls;
  • - Mineral water and vegetable broth. Coca is not at all recommended.
These foods are consumed by envy.
You should know listen to your body: it dictates exactly what is happening and what does not.

In the days following

It is prudent to adopt a residue-free diet with:
  • - Ham;
  • - Lean meat, chicken breast, fish cooked without fat;
  • - Pasta, rice, lightly buttered, without tomato sauce;
  • - No vegetables;
  • - Cooked fruits or applesauce;
  • - Yoghurt or fermented milk;
so as to bring the gut to stand for 2 or 3 days.
