MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS LOW: 10 / 6

A low voltage should not worry unduly. This is where many young women, whose blood is around 10 or 11 for the top number (systolic pressure), sometimes a little less. The downside of "low voltage" is the risk of dizziness, lightheadedness, or discomfort. But of course, they often occur, consult.

A low voltage, it is not very serious

A voltage low blood may have a family origin, but is also a feature of large, thin young women. It may also be the result of illness or medication. But fatigue and stress can also affect the voltage.
A small voltage has no criterion of gravity itself, on two conditions:
  • that blood pressure does not vary significantly compared to usual numbers. The organization likes the stability and alternating high and low counts, is poorly tolerated;
  • that the voltage does not drop abruptly below 5 or 6, living wage.Indeed, below the heart is no longer able to properly irrigate all parts of the body, and under these conditions, the brain suffers the most.
This situation of extreme emergency occurs, for example as a result of severe bleeding or an allergic shock.

Risk of dizziness and discomfort in case of small voltage

The disadvantage of a low voltage is likely to suffer from vertigo, dizziness, or discomfort for no apparent reason. They occur mainly in specific circumstances: where overheated, prolonged standing, stress, fatigue. Thus, for example, a shopping in a department store may result in a little discomfort. The voltage is initially low, any further reduction leads easily to this kind of minor accident.
However, if ill are often repeated, it is better to refer in particular to verify whether a disease might not be the cause.

Attention to the voltage drop at sunrise

The fall of blood pressure to rise is surprising. Indeed, in this case, the transition from lying to standing that triggers a decline in voltage, which usually causes dizziness. This is due to poor regulation of cerebral blood pressure: it is the hypotension orthostatic. Prolonged bed rest, prolonged standing or the fact of having a poor venous return resulting in varicose veins, for example, can promote this phenomenon. But it is also true of certain medications (antidepressants, anti-hypertensives, drugs for the heart?) And more rarely, a neurological disease. It is better to talk to her doctor.

Some advice

  • In case of discomfort: from stunning, sit or lie still better legs elevated about ten minutes to send blood to the brain.
  • In case of voltage drop at sunrise: lie down a while and then get up very gradually through the sitting position for about ten seconds.

  • To increase tension : drink a lot, including mineral water rich in sodium, but especially not alcohol, and eating salty. Indeed, if the salt is not recommended in cases of hypertension, it is recommended when the reverse voltage is low because it has the ability to retain water in the arteries, which has the effect of increasing blood pressure.

Namely

Voltage Standard: 12 / 8
Hypertension: greater than 14 / 9
Hypotension: 10 / any figure
