Alzheimer: what are the signs of Alzheimer's disease?

Alzheimer's disease is a disease found in the group of dementia. What are its manifestations? What this means?

Alzheimer's disease: what is it due?

Alzheimer's disease is characterized by brain damage and the appearance in the brain, "senile plaques" . Schematically, we can consider it as a set, consisting of particular proteins, which do not perform their role more and prevent the smooth functioning of the brain into "killing" neurons.This causes different clinical signs, as detailed below.

1. Cognitive deficits

Cognitive deficits in this disease due to brain damage. In Alzheimer's disease, these entail systematically memory impairment (inability to learn things or memory loss), and one of the following events:

Aphasia : Aphasia is a language disorder, there are different types that can be seen easily because of the strange character of the responses or lack of response;
apraxia : the person has difficulty making movements while the leaders of the movement functions are not impaired;
agnosia : this translates into the inability to recognize objects or persons despite good sense perceptions;
- Disruption of the ability to make plans , organize their thinking over time or develop abstract reasoning.

2. Disruption of daily life

The cognitive deficits prevent the person from having a social or professional satisfaction. This is noticed by the surroundings and the person itself often feel that explains the difference between the past and those capacities today.

3. The evolution of Alzheimer's disease is still

By its nature, Alzheimer's disease is characterized by a continued deterioration of intellectual capacity, emotional and social . It starts gradually, but the decline is constant. The evolution, however, may not always be regular and depend on certain life events.

4. No other disease?

There are many diseases or psychopathology that have similar symptoms . To be sure of the diagnosis, it is important to remove any possible diseases with similar manifestations.

Warning: if ever you see these signs, ask to meet with a neuropsychologist or physician. Indeed, the more the disease is detected, the greater the possibilities for action are great.
