NO SUNBEDS BEFORE AGE 30!

The risk of malignant melanoma, skin cancer's most aggressive, increases of 75% in people who used tanning beds before age 30. Already prohibited to minors, should we extend the restriction to age 30?

Skin cancer: early detection is imperative

The skin cancer is progressing the fastest. The incidence of malignant melanoma has doubled in just twenty years. The only solution is to respect the main preventive measure: sun protection in early childhood. Then, the prognosis depends exclusively on early diagnosis, the only way to reduce mortality from this cancer is to encourage early detection. We can start by consulting a dermatologist regularly and monitor her skin, as well as children and spouses. Any mole that is changing the appearance or stain are nascent signs that should encourage them to consult immediately.

Those most at risk are those who are much exposed to the sun and those who took sunburn during childhood. But also subjects with fair skin, outdoor workers, etc..

Before 30 years, 75% risk more with artificial tanning

To this list must be added the followers of artificial tanning and especially those who use tanning booths before the age of 30.
Officer of expertise by the Ministry of Health, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has just made its findings on the association between UV exposure and cancer.
The subjects who start using sunbeds before the age of 30, have an increased risk of 75% of developing melanoma. Experts point out that UV also have adverse effects on the immune response of the skin and possibly eye (ocular melanoma).
The positive effects, there is none. Artificial tanning does not protect or little sun damage or a deficiency in vitamin D (our body can manufacture this vitamin in condition to be exposed to light).

This raises the question of limiting the age of 30 access to tanning booths?
Note that they are already prohibited to minors.

Protect your winter sports!

The sun is not only dangerous summer at the beach. It is also feared in mountain and even more particularly when there is snow because it reflects UV.So do not forget your sunscreen of high index and repeat many times during the day applications.
The National Cancer Institute (INCA) also states that it must carry a high protection lip stick and a pair of sunglasses wrap or a mask with UV filter and CE Category 3 or 4.
