WITH SOME DRUGS, THE CONS-TAN IS INDICATED!

Despite an awareness of the risks caused by repeated exposure to sun , the French do not always sufficiently wary of UV. Some people need to protect themselves more than others. This applies, for example children, outdoor workers or people taking photosensitizing drugs .

What is special photosensitizing drugs?

They have the disadvantage of increasing the sensitivity of skin to sunlight .People taking such drugs should therefore be wary even of UV because they risk severe sunburn and burns very painful. And this sometimes after only a few minutes of exposure. An allergy to sunlight resulting in the appearance of eczema and itching may also occur but this reaction is rare.

But what exactly are these photosensitizing drugs?

Here is a list by therapeutic class (non exhaustive). Antibiotics Bactrim Vibramycin Minocin Tolexine Rufol Ciflox Uniflox Tavanic Logiflox Oflocet? Anti-inflammatory local (ointments and gels which are applied directly on the skin) Voltaren Gel Kétum Emugel Flector Advil Gel Profenid Geldens Nifluril Ointment Gel?
Antipsychotics All neuroleptics. diuretics Furosemide Lasix generic Burinex Eurelix Antiarrhythmics Amiodarone Cordarone Generic People taking these medications should therefore be applied very carefully the safety vis-à-vis the sun:
  • Applying sunscreen with very high index: 50 minimum or Very High Protection.
  • No exposure between 12 and 16 hours
  • Wear protective clothes and a hat or cap.
