WARNING PIERCING!

The death of a young girl, attributed to the aftermath of a piercing nasal stimulus warnings about the dangers of this practice, which is now commonplace among teenagers. How many deaths will it take for health conditions finally become acceptable and that prevention messages should be disclosed?

To get a piercing is not trivial. It is a preventable injury that is inflicted on our bodies in the name of aesthetics, and risky. And apart from the dangers inherent in the location of the piercing , the hygienic conditions under which it is made must be particularly rigorous . This practice is increasingly popular and sanitary precautions are still far from blameless.

The Daily Doctor tells the dramatic story of this student in biology 19 years, died of infective endocarditis after body piercing nose, which would have opened the door to the bacteria. Number of health professionals were interviewed. Some say it is " urgent to alert the public on actions that have nothing significant, especially when performed in areas filters such as the nose, or areas of maceration, as the navel, where accumulate germs easily. " Others recall that the last four years, a health regulations codifying act of piercing was sought to prevent the risk of viral or bacterial contamination. These standards, for equipment and premises of action are still outstanding: universal hygiene, disposable equipment, sterilization, disinfection, wearing gloves? Meanwhile, thecandidate's information to the piercing should be mandatory, especially to prevent the cons-indications : immune deficiencies, chronic skin diseases, dental infections, treatment with corticosteroids or anti-inflammatory drugs, implanted metal allergy? The Daily also points out that the risk of infection is potentially high, as demonstrated by a French survey revealing that the eleven made on bacteriological materials ready for use were all positive (infected by bacteria), one of which being longer carries the virus.
Hopefully, the regulatory process already initiated by the Directorate General of Health concluded quickly.
